1st Annual Dusty Open Minigolf Tournament Dusty Open Minigolf Tournament Rules

$30 entry fee!
Free practice day of tournament with entry

Date/Time - Sunday, 5/10, 11am - 3pm sign up/placement rounds Sign up ends at 3pm (no exceptions), tournament finished by 4 - 5pm

Format - Two 9-hole rounds (18 total) for placement Top 8 go on to another two rounds (18 holes) Lowest cumulative score wins!

Tiebreakers - For first place, 9-hole round (until a winner is found); For top 8, match play. Prizes - $650 cash in total!!

Standard rules: Competitors are required to use putters to get a golf ball into the hole in as few strokes as possible. Both hands must be on the putter (unless because of a disability). The competitor must not 'double touch' the ball or push the ball and must allow the ball to fully stop before taking their next putt (infracting any of these will result in an added stroke and restarting the hole). Competitors may use their own putters and their own balls (official minigolf and golf balls only, rubber allowed). 5 stroke maximum for each hole. One ball on the green at a time, whoever wins the previous hole goes first next.

Relief rules: When a ball is on the boundary rails or against an obstacle, the ball may be moved away by one-and-a-half putter heads. If under an obstacle, the ball may be given relief from a point vertically projected from the boundary of the overhang (use a putter held vertically at the edge). The ball must not be moved towards the hole if at all possible, and may not be moved to provide a new angle to the hole, just relief for puttability. This final rule is especially important on holes 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8.

OOB rule: If a putt goes out of bounds (from anywhere), competitor must restart the hole, counting the stroke (no added penalty).

Dusty rules: Tournament tee off is from back of tee off (as marked, except holes 3 and 5). If a ball returns to the tee off (holes 6, 7, 8, 9), passing the starting blocks, it may be reset anywhere behind starting blocks. Must putt through handrail in front of tee off on hole 5. May putt over barrier on hole 6. Flexibility can be given to accidentily tapping ball when setting up a putt, however competitors are expected to be focused and professional and not over use this. Competitors must be respectful and follow house rules of play according to the Dusty Planet League Minigolf Charter (see website), or risk disqualification.
